Recently, REC hosted a regional Bakery Showcase session. Fifteen students from six different schools worked in our commercial kitchen training facility with Bakery Industry personnel. The students made a dough plait, decorated cupcakes and iced a donut. One of the bakers who worked with the students was a local apprentice from CJs Bakery at Christies Beach. Along with having fun and eating their lovely products, students gained an insight to career pathways in the bakery industry and learnt about lots of different job roles offered within the industry.
